Fitchburg Finance Committee Advances Dunn's Marsh Flood Project to Final Design Phase
FITCHBURG — September 26, 2023 — Fitchburg Finance Committee approves $98,500 Dunn's Marsh flood design contract and four other resolutions. The committee unanimously cleared a change order Tuesday authorizing Advanced Environmental Engineering Services to complete final design and bidding documents for a flood mitigation project that has been in planning since at least 2022; the city will redirect $65,800 from the Curry Court Flooding Project to cover most of the cost, with the remainder already in the Dunn's Marsh project account. Finance Director Misty Dodge previewed a tight budget calendar — department presentations October 3 and 4, council amendments due October 13 — and noted the mayor's proposed budget was released Friday. Interim IT Director Rob Kodanski secured approval for a server storage replacement under a six-year hardware cycle, with MPSIS covering 20 percent of shared costs via a $26,000 invoice. A settlement offer from Hy-Vee, Inc. was referred to the full City Council without recommendation after Dodge said the settlement figure and staff recommendation would only be disclosed in closed session that same evening.
