The city has formally declared the organization of the Fitchburg Tourism Destination Marketing District, according to a notice posted to the city's website. The notice did not include further detail on funding, boundaries, or governance, but the declaration formalizes a new entity dedicated to promoting tourism in the city.
Fitchburg is also asking residents to weigh in on the joint Fitchburg-Leominster Housing Production Plan, still in progress, through an online survey posted to the city's site this week. Separately, the city posted updates on ongoing downtown work under its "InTown Downtown" infrastructure initiative, and issued a Spanish-language notice, "Cambios en el Lugar de Votación," or "Change in Voting Location", alerting residents that their polling place has changed. No further details on the new location were posted as of Friday.
