FITCHBURG — Trustees of Public Burial Grounds vote to fund cemetery expansion planning study. Chair James McNamara, Ph.D., and the board unanimously advanced design and engineering analysis work estimated at $100,000 to $250,000, determining that only two viable parkland sites exist within the city for expansion. The Superintendent's Report documented ten full interments and 62 family meetings in the current period, with ongoing mausoleum masonry repairs and spring installation work on the brick walkway planned through Monty Tech.
Trustees McNamara and Hawthorne were selected for the budget subcommittee to advance the capital planning process.
