Fitchburg park board standardizes fees and approves 2026 calendar. The Board of Park Commissioners voted 4-0 to make park-use fees uniform for all organizations following a Massachusetts land grant program requirement, with Gary Withington moving and Mary Whitney seconding the motion. Jim McGrath continues as Chair and Mary Whitney as Vice-Chair, both reelected 4-0.
Capital projects include signs at Riverfront Park, conversion of tennis courts to pickleball courts at Parkhill Park, installation of a solar charging station at Coolidge Park, and repair of granite steps at Monument Park. The Ron Bouchard Foundation granted $3,500 toward a Story Walk project.
