FITCHBURG — License Commission approves five applications and tavern liquor license. Chair Daniel Sarefield, with members Richard Boscardin and Glenn Fossa, unanimously approved solicitor licenses for Christopher Nelson of Sungrow Energy Corporation and Jaeda Stewart of Weathervane Home Energy, a taxi driver license for Ciara Chumack of City Cab of Fitchburg LLC, and amended entertainment permits for John Flynn of Fiesta Shows for the St. Bernard's Carnival in April 2026.
A special wine and malt beverages permit for Compass Group NA's appetizer reception was approved as amended. The commission unanimously approved a new general on-premises restaurant all-alcoholic-beverages liquor license for Tavern in the Square at 170 Whalon Street, with proposed manager Melissa Garland and operating hours Sunday-Saturday 10:00 AM to 1:00 AM.
