Library Trustees approve December minutes, discuss strategic planning.

Library Trustees · Meeting of January 14, 2026

FITCHBURG — Library Trustees unanimously approve December minutes and hear Director Deb Hinkle outline strategic planning. Hinkle said the plan, required for LSTA funding, will launch once the building project concludes and must include substantial community involvement. Chair Matthew Bruun backed Hinkle's request to the city for staffing positions needed in the new building, saying the municipality needs to see the full picture even if immediate funding proves limited.

The building's steel placement is nearly complete with most windows installed. Trustees agreed to invite a Fitchburg Fiber representative to discuss internet service and eligibility for e-rate and CIPA programs.
