Fitchburg Declares New Tourism Marketing District

DATELINE — FITCHBURG

The city has formally declared the organization of the Fitchburg Tourism Destination Marketing District, a new designation officials are pairing with continued downtown infrastructure work, according to notices posted this week on the city's website.

TOWN HALL

City Hall issued a formal notice announcing the organization of the Fitchburg Tourism Destination Marketing District, a designation aimed at supporting tourism promotion efforts tied to the city's broader downtown investment push. Details on the district's governance and funding were not included in the notice.

The notice comes as the city continues its "InTown Downtown" infrastructure improvement work, with an update posted this week directing residents to the project page for the latest status.

Separately, the city posted a Spanish-language notice, "Cambios en el Lugar de Votación," alerting residents to changes in their assigned voting location. City officials are urging affected voters to confirm their correct polling site before heading to vote.

SCHOOLS

Fitchburg Public Schools has posted its finalized fiscal 2027 budget book, according to the district's website, closing out this year's budget process for the roughly 5,000-student district. The district also highlighted several recently adopted policies, including a Competency Determination Policy, a Fitchburg High School CTE recruitment, admissions and retention policy, and a middle school pathway exploration policy.
