Fitchburg City Council enacts junk vehicle enforcement ordinances

Fitchburg City Council unanimously adopts junk vehicle enforcement ordinances. With 10 of 11 members present, Council President Anthony Zarrella presided as the body passed ordinances 005-26 and 006-26, amending Chapters 138 and 172, signed by the Mayor on February 19. The council accepted state law authorizing the Liquor License Commission to approve wine-and-malt-beverage to full-liquor license conversions.

The council voted 8-2 to grant a petition from Councilors Derrick Cruz and Beth Walsh amending the Interim Appointments ordinance and 9-1 to grant a Class II Dealer's License to Podium Motors at 401 Summer Street. The council approved $200,000 in CDBG funding transfer and $71,550 in grant expenditures for a conservation restriction at 71 Bennett Road.
