FITCHBURG — The Fitchburg Disability Commission approved its January minutes and received reports on accessibility barriers worsened by winter weather, including unshoveled curb cuts on Main Street and snow obstructing handicapped parking spaces near City Hall and the Arts Community Apartments. Chair Basil Tolos reported he will contact the Postmaster regarding missing signage at the post office's handicapped spaces, and the commission noted a first notice from the Architectural Access Board regarding elevator problems at the YMCA. Barbara Slattery discussed Music Includes, a nonprofit providing inclusive musical experiences, scheduled to perform at the Johnny Appleseed Fair, while the commission confirmed reappointments for four members and received notice that DJ Tardiff is being recommended for membership by the Mayor's Office.
