Council on Aging adds public comment, backs mobile shower unit.

Council on Aging · Meeting of April 9, 2026

FITCHBURG — Council on Aging unanimously backs a mobile shower unit for unhoused residents. Executive Director Amanda Koeck reported the Board of Health mobile shower unit, which operated through Community Health Connections' now-closed drop-in center, would be stationed on Elm Street next to the Senior Center during non-business hours. The board also heard that a $37,000 masonry repointing contract has been signed with Silvio's Masonry and Landscaping, and FY27 budget requests include $5,000 for building maintenance including elevator repairs and water heater issues.

Chair Todd Goodwin announced public comment, limited to two minutes per speaker, is now a permanent agenda item.
