Council approves board appointments, advances $1.5M in capital projects

Fitchburg City Council approves three board appointments and authorizes $500,000 in immediate departmental spending. Erik Salmi joins the Planning Board; Abigail Wolf and Sabrina La Fave-Saletnik join the Conservation Commission. With Council Member Paul Beauchemin's sole dissent, the Council approved $46,100 for departmental labor and stipends, unanimously approving $191,000 in Police reallocations, $67,000 for ADA compliance design, and $10,000 for a Winter Warming Center.
Approximately $1.5 million in capital projects — including $750,000 for wastewater engineering and $318,000 for DPW equipment — awaits Finance Committee action.
