Fitchburg Conservation Commission approves residential duplex project and clears compliance cases. The Commission unanimously approved a three-duplex residential development by MACPRO LLC at 0 Mechanic Street, incorporating special enforcement conditions for ongoing homeowner obligations and an underground stormwater system meeting state standards. Four certificates of compliance were granted, including one contentious approval for 196 Sheldon Road where the homeowner's property was raised four to five feet above the original plan; Commissioner Michael Donnelly opposed that certificate, but the vote passed 5-1.
Two single-family home projects were continued to June 3, 2026, pending revisions and peer-review completion. A septic replacement project at 717 Mount Elam Road was approved unanimously after confirming city sewer connection is infeasible due to capacity constraints.
