Fitchburg Legislative Affairs Committee approved a parking garage restrictions ordinance unanimously.

Legislative Affairs Committee · Meeting of April 7, 2026

Fitchburg Legislative Affairs Committee approved a parking garage restrictions ordinance unanimously. Police Chief Steve Giannini introduced Ordinance 047-26, which amends Chapter 132 of the Code of the City to add Article VIII, restricting congregation in municipal parking garages without legitimate parking-related business. The committee made minor language clarifications and approved the measure as amended.

Giannini agreed to clarify a reference in the ordinance before publication, and the committee noted the amendment adds safety and security to the garages.
