City Council approves grants for domestic violence and police services

Fitchburg City Council approves police grants, confirms board appointments. The council unanimously approved a $76,307.11 Violence Against Women Act grant for the Police Department's domestic violence advocate program and a $29,556 Department of Justice grant for police technology and equipment upgrades. The council also confirmed multiple board members to the Public Library Board, Council on Aging, and Disability Commission.

Two ordinances enhancing junk vehicle enforcement were sent to first and second reading. Petitions regarding marijuana retail hours expansion and marijuana delivery operations were referred to the Planning Board for public hearings.
