FITCHBURG — The Fitchburg Board of Health imposed $1,000 fines on three tobacco retailers for selling nicotine pouches to minors. Chair Dr. John Bogdasarian moved to fine Wine World, JD's Variety, and Unified Petroleum the mandatory $1,000 each and reduce their standard three-day permit suspensions to one day.
The Board unanimously approved all three penalties. Each violation occurred on June 19, 2026, when a 19-year-old trained youth inspector purchased ZYN nicotine pouches without being asked for identification. The Board also welcomed Alexandra Nudler, the newly appointed Food and Milk Inspector, who holds a Public Health degree from Framingham State University.
