Airport Commission approves Aero Fair, pilots lounge policy, and Finance Committee presentation.

Fitchburg Airport Commission unanimously approves Aero Fair and amended lounge policy. The Commission backed a June 7, 2026 Aero Fair organized by the Fitchburg Pilots Association featuring Life Flight, fire safety demonstrations, and the Young Eagles youth flight program, with a 4-0 vote. Commissioners also voted 4-0 to amend the pilots lounge rental fee policy to extend no-cost booking blocks to all flight schools and instructors, not exclusively to FCA Flight Center.
Airport Manager Russ Cornelia gained unanimous approval to present a $108,518.03 AIP Grant expenditure request to the Finance Committee, with the largest item a $70,000 hangar door replacement for Building 7. The Commission placed Mitiguy Aviation under operational restrictions pending investigation of safety incidents including unauthorized plow truck operation and three pilot-error events.
